Forward, ho!

I’ve often been accused of being distant, and my habits generally justify such finger-pointing. However, there is news to share. So let’s get to that.

Firstly, new publications: The kind folks over at Princeton’s Prism lit mag have seen fit to accept “First Timers,” a lovely little poem from Words that Should Never Be Said (…to a Woman). The Idiom’s fraternal twin of prose, The Fictodium, has accepted “An Interview with Gretel,” and Shot Glass Journal has published “Baby Grand” – both pieces which formerly appeared in Tripped Tongues & Fallen Cases.

Secondly, my fifth book, “Miserable with Fire,” has all its parts in place, undergone final editing, and its own official ISBN number and barcode. Within a few days, the book will be headed to a printer and available for purchase!

Lastly, some collections I’ve been reading which may or may not spawn reviews but are definitely recommended: “Facts About the Moon” by Dorianne Laux, “New and Selected 1994-2002” by Kwame Dawes, and “As If Free” by Burt Kimmelman.

Because I lie, there’s a little more. I still have notes on 2 Dodge Poetry Fest panels which I intend to write up (timely, ain’t I) and a few other book reviews (Sarah Lindsay’s “Twigs & Knucklebones,” Karen Finneyfrock’s “Ceremony for the Choking Ghost,” and Bob Hicock’s “Words for Empty and Words for Full”) coming up.
